History and Milestones

2020

Bräcker celebrates its 185th anniversary as a global key market player in the textile industry. Today, Bräcker stands for precision and high-quality and its reputation is second to none. It produces millions of travelers per day at consistently high quality.

 

2008

Acquisition of the business unit BERKOL from Huber+Suhner AG (Switzerland). BERKOL develops and manufactures top roller covers and aprons for spinning machines as well as machinery and equipment for maintaining and servicing these components.

2001

Acquisition of Gretener, a leading spinning tubes manufacturer, to further expand Bräcker’s product portfolio.  

1996

Acquisition by Rieter Group, the world’s leading supplier of systems for short-staple fiber spinning. Based in Winterthur (Switzerland), Rieter develops and manufactures machinery, systems and components. Bräcker becomes part of the Business Group Components.

1969

Bräcker launches its first nylon travelers, thus entering the glass fiber market.

1951

Bräcker expands to France and opens its branch in Wintzenheim, near Colmar. The facility focuses on the production of nylon travelers as well as AP and STRAP packaging. 

1937

Introduction of the first products for the spinning industry, a growth driver for Bräcker who is now recognized as a market leader in this field.

1835

Bräcker AG is founded by C. Bräcker Pfenninger in Pfäffikon ZH, Switzerland. The family business manufactures products for the weaving industry.
